SYRIZA Snubs Roma Candidate Because She Dared To Declare She Was Greek & Not Turkish

Sabiha Suleiman's name was apparently removed following opposition to her candidature for the EU Parliament by the SYRIZA main opposition party. According to press reports, a section of Thrace's Muslim minority was not happy with Sabiha Suleiman's candidacy because of her attempts to differentiate the Roma community from the wider Turkish-speaking Muslim community in the region. As insane as this sounds, they X-ed her because she dared to declare that she was a Muslim Greek citizen and not Turkish.

More precisely, SYRIZA on Monday announced that it had removed the name of a Roma candidate from its list of candidates for the European Parliament elections next month.

In a statement, the main opposition (and obviously anti-Hellenic and pro-Turkey) party provided no reason why it was withdrawing the candidature of Sabiha Suleiman, a well-known Roma activist in the northeastern region of Thrace.

The Leftist party said that the decision not to run Suleiman was made at a meeting of the SYRIZA's prefectural committee as well as local MPs, in the presence of the party's general secretary and it noted that she was being replaced by Oumit Mestan Osman (who on the other hand is probably someone who is accepted by the Turkish Consulate in Thrace which SYRIZA is very close to).

Still not convinced? Well, molecular biologist, Mestan Osman is a member of the region's Muslim minority, a section of which was not happy with Suleiman's candidacy because of her attempts to differentiate the Roma Muslim community from the wider Turkish-speaking Muslim community in the region. Her differentiation? She dared to say that she is a Greek Muslim.... and this obviously angered the separatists in the area who have been brainwashing the community there for decades into believing that they should Kosovize the area and join it with Turkey.

An NGO set up by Suleiman in her village of Drosero encourages Roma children to attend Greek-speaking schools instead of the only Turkish speaking schools for Muslims. As a result of her work, Suleiman told SKAI radio on Monday that has been attacked by "people of Turkish origin" in the past.

In this area, Muslims are divided into ethnic Turks, Roma and Pomaks, who speak a Bulgarian dialect. Under the Lausanne treaty between Greece and Turkey, they are defined by their religion only, not ethnicity or language (and this makes perfect sense since they are living on Greek land). Anyone who has ever visited Thrace, or has been covering the events in this area knows very well that the local Turkish consulate in the region is seeking the Turkification of all the region's Muslims, while some even dare to throw out propaganda that claims that the government in Athens promotes the differentiation between them.

This is a compelling  national issue that concerns all Hellenes, and should not be overlooked by anyone of Greek origin. HellasFrappe has analyzed this issue on more than one occasion and we have presented quite a bit of information proving that there is a plan to separate this area from continental Greece. Please go to the search box and simply type in Thrace and you will be surprised with everything we have posted over the past three years -including special reports that will astound you-. We suggest that you educate yourselves on this issue so that you too can voice your opposition against any force that wants to dismantle our nation -much like Yugoslavia was dismantled-. We repeat... this is not a conspiracy. This is happening as we speak and you are obligated as an Hellene to spread awareness about this subject to everyone you know -as well as the highest level-. We also propose that you keep your distance from forces that are advocating for this (such as SYRIZA, DIMAR and PASOK) and be weary of forces that actually claim that this is being conducted for humanitarian reasons.
